Most
of our children and adolescents have been denied their right to normal,
loving family relationships. While healing our client, work also needs
to be done to help their families regain thier ability to provide
a stable home. When reunification is not possible, a new family is
needed for the child, whether kinship, foster, or adoptive. A child
placed i a new home - and the family in the home - need special support
to create and nurturing healthy family relationships.

Foster
Care |

Once
stabilized and ready for foster placement, Crittenton children are
referred to an appropriate foster family (who receive training in
special-needs placements). We currently have more than 50 children
placed in foster homes throughout Southern California. |

When
in the best interest of the child, Crittenton therapists work also
with the family of the child to reestablish relationships, teach appropriate
boundaries, show alternative means of discipline, and to teach parents
about developmental milestones in a child's development. After a child
leaves Crittenton, staff offer aftercare support and will assist parents
in finding community resources to continue counseling. |
