Crittenton
School |
| |
Crittenton
operates a non-public school certified by the State of California
Dept. of Education for grades 8 through 12. We have contracts with
Fullerton Elementary District and Fullerton High School District to
meet the state's education mandate for children in our care that cannot
or who choose not to be mainstreamed into regular classes. Typically,
95% of adolescents prefer Crittenton School which operates on a short-day,
eleven-month calendar to accomodate our clients' other program needs.

Emancipation
/ Transitional Services |
| |
In
keeping with the continuous need for children in placement to be
prepared to become successful adults, Crittenton has an emancipation
program which offers our clients both pre-emancipation and emancipated
classes, and chances for career exploration and job readiness preparation.
In addition, these services help to improve the level of employment
possibilities.
When
our clients are emancipating to independence directly from our residential
program, the emancipation department works with them to ensure that
they have adequate housing and resources to set up their own households.
Crittenton
Services also has a Stepping Stones Project which
provides transitional housing on a tenant basis to Moms/Babies leaving
residential care. Clients in this program are futher supported by
our Home Visitor Program.

Kidsnet |
| |
Each
residential cottage is linked by cable to a file server housing educational
software. Subject to available funding, there will be one Pentium
computer to each six residents (eventually, 1:4) in each cottage for
homework, research, and educational play. Ultimately, each computer
will be linked to the Educational Center for homework assistance and
to facilitate home schooling during maternity rest. |

The
Arts |
| |
No
education is truly complete without an exploration of the arts. Many
of our clients exhibit considerable interest and talent but have never
had the opportunity to make music, stick their fingers in the clay,
or learn to express themselves through dance. Through the generous
support of donors, we have been able to add the arts to our curriculm
- and enrich lives as a result. |
